Hey CTPiX family,
we are wondering: is there a way for major European streaming services to challenge the dominant U.S. giants Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube? The time seems right to do so: recently we have seen a whole range of announcements from European video and broadcasting corporations to collaborate:
the BBC and ITV have created BritBox, a new subscription streaming service
ProSiebenSat.1 and Discovery Channel have teamed up for 7TV, a new integrated streaming platform
France’s top three broadcasters France Télévisions, TF1 and M6 are building an OTT platform, named Salto.
Will they play a significant role in the big game of VoD? Do they stand a real chance to build real European champions? Can they establish an online audience and, more importantly, a successful business model?
Join us in this debate with some of the most innovative players from the current frontline in the streaming business. This panel will explore why Europe should (and will?) play a prime role in the streaming market.
The panel will be preceded by a video welcoming address from Mariya Gabriel, the European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society.
